Real Parties: Akir’s Surprise 40th Birthday Bash

ForYourParty’s next installment of Real Parties will feature a fun, lively Surprise 40th Birthday Bash thrown for Akir by his wife, Michelle (with the help of event planner, Loretta Lester). Don’t get me wrong, we love seeing our products featured in beautiful weddings, but seeing our products used for a surprise birthday bash is also quite exciting! This birthday bash was held in a modern loft-style apartment in New York City—talk about a perfect location to set the mood for a surprise party. Especially if that party’s theme is ‘Tapas, Sangria, Salsa’.

Utilizing the white space of the loft, they introduced layers of red (Akir’s favorite) & gold for an air of sophistication. To complete the theme and add even more smiles and good laughs to the bash, a dance instructor taught each of the guests the salsa.

Their guests were in a for a real treat, as they served both sangria and hand-muddled mojitos, while, of course, snacking on tapas. Michelle personalized our oval stir sticks to read “Akir’s 40th,” which added an exciting detail to their delicious sangria.

Below you’ll see a delicious dessert called a ‘Brigadeiro,’ or  a Brazilian chocolate bonbon, which was created in the 1940’s. These lovely treats came from a local bakery:
Brigadeiro Bakery, Macdougal St. New York City.

They also used our personalized cocktail napkins to add some fun to their signature snack: tapas. Small details can be seen throughout the entire party, like our stir sticks and napkins, but also details such as their chevron-striped wooden forks and gold balloons.

Photo booths have become a must for many weddings and events, and this birthday bash is no exception. Oversized gold mylar number balloons made for a super fun photo backdrop.

Small details are everything when it comes to throwing a successful party, and this Surprise 40th Birthday Bash proves just that. The red & gold accents, hand-muddled mojitos, personalized party accessories, and photo booth really gave this party the energy it needed to be an exciting and memorable event.
