Our stir sticks as Popsicle handles! Distinctive and delicious!






As we are still sweltering in the city of Chicago it seemed a perfect time to make popsicles. We found a great recipe on yumsugar.com for Watermelon Margarita Pops We’ve added our own tips to make these delicious sweet treats with our stir stick as personalized handles.


Watermelon Margarita Pops!


These sweet and strong pops are excellent to offer guests after a fun porch grill out. With the alcohol inside be sure to keep frozen until serving. You can freeze your serving tray with the dessert for a slightly longer table life or bury these frozen cups still wrapped in a bucket of ice for protection from the summer heat.

Ingredients:
2 cups watermelon puree (roughly ¼ medium size seedless watermelon)
¼ cup lime juice (roughly 1 large lime)
3 oz. tequila
1 oz. cointreau
2/3 cup sugar

Directions:
  1. Clear out enough room in your freezer to accommodate the tray you will use to freeze the pops on.
  2. Chop the watermelon into smallish pieces, put into Cuisinart and puree. (for those without a Cuisinart a blender or hand puree wand will work as well.)
  3. Add lime juice and sugar to watermelon puree. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
  4. Add tequila and cointreau – stir very well.
  5. Fill Dixie cups. Cut small squares of tinfoil to cover the top of each cup.
  6. Spoon mixture in to the Dixie cups leaving roughly ¼ inch before top.
  7. Place tin foil squares over top of each cup and with a sharp knife cut small slits in the middle.
  8. Slide stir stick through each slit and once entire tray is complete slide into cleared freezer space.
Makes 10 – 3 oz. popsicles. Will take approximately 4 hours to fully freeze, serve right away. Pops will last for 3-5 days in freezer.
